Charlie Chupp - Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Before moving to Colorado in 2013, Charlie served for 12 years as CEO of Load King Industries in Jacksonville, Florida, a nationwide manufacturing, distribution and construction firm specializing in full turnkey food service store packages. During those years, Load King delivered over 8,000 stores for leading brands such as Starbucks, Einstein Brothers, Smoothie King, and Safeway Supermarkets including everything from concept design to pre-plumbed and pre-wired cabinetry, metal work, graphics, equipment consolidation, to installation and setup.
Critical to his success has been his application of Toyota's Production System, or Lean, over 15 years to a complex and time sensitive business model.
Today, Charlie and the Fading West team have applied the same Lean concepts to creating a business model for rural, residential development that is specifically targeted at the underserved price points which are attainable by essential workforce families.
Micah Salazar - Chief Operating Officer
Micah brings a unique set of leadership and management experiences to the Fading West team. After graduating from Colorado School of Mines with a degree in mechanical engineering, he and his family moved to Buena Vista, Colorado where he served as operations manager at Noah’s Ark Whitewater Rafting and Adventure Company, one of the largest outfitters in Colorado, serving upwards of 25,000 people each year. He led a staff of 125 seasonal employees and had direct oversight of all company operations and resources. In his 16 years as operations manager, he led this fast-paced, outdoor adventure company to become one of the premier outfitters in the nation.
After Noah’s Ark, Micah became the camp manager at Trail West Lodge, Young Life’s family camp in Buena Vista. Micah took the reins from Charlie Chupp and spent three years leading Trail West. This work combined his ability to manage a large organization with his love for creating a special place for families to create incredible memories. This love ultimately led him to join the Fading West team in its pursuit to solve the housing crisis and to serve families by developing incredible neighborhood communities across the state.
